Permit & Compliance

Never Miss a License Renewal or Permit Deadline

Track every license, certification, and insurance expiry across your team. Get alerts 90/60/30/7 days before expiration. Look up permit requirements by jurisdiction.

The old way vs the SteadyOps way

The old way

License renewals are tracked on sticky notes and calendar reminders that get missed. You discover a tech's certification expired last week — after they already did permitted work. Permit requirements vary by city and you never know what is needed until the inspector shows up.

The SteadyOps way

Every license, certification, and insurance policy is tracked in one dashboard. You get alerts at 90, 60, 30, and 7 days before expiration. Look up permit requirements by zip code and job type. Track permit applications from submission to final inspection.

How it works

Get started in minutes

01

Add licenses and certifications

Enter each technician's licenses, certifications, and insurance policies with expiration dates. Upload copies of the documents for your records.

02

System tracks expiry automatically

SteadyOps monitors all expiration dates and sends alerts to you and the affected technician at 90, 60, 30, and 7 days before expiry. Never be surprised by a lapsed license.

03

Look up permit requirements per job

Before starting a job, look up permit requirements by entering the zip code and job type. Know exactly what permits, inspections, and fees are required before your tech arrives on-site.

04

Track permits through inspection

Track every permit from application to approval to inspection to final sign-off. See the status of all active permits across your team in one view.

Real-world scenario

See it in action

Electrical Company (8 technicians)

The scenario

Your compliance dashboard shows a yellow alert: one of your journeyman electricians has a state license expiring in 12 days. Without this alert, the license would have lapsed — and your company would have been unable to pull permits for his jobs until renewal was complete.

The result

The tech renews his license with 5 days to spare. His scheduled jobs proceed without interruption. The 3 permitted jobs on his calendar for the following week — worth $15,000 combined — would have been delayed or reassigned without the early warning.

Frequently asked questions

Does SteadyOps know the permit requirements for my area?

SteadyOps maintains a database of permit requirements by jurisdiction and job type for major metro areas in the US. Coverage is expanding continuously. For areas not yet covered, you can add custom permit requirements manually.

Can techs see their own compliance status?

Yes. Each technician can see their own licenses, certifications, and expiry dates in their SteadyOps profile. They receive the same alerts you do so they can initiate renewals proactively.

What happens if a license expires?

The system flags the expired license in red on the dashboard and alerts you immediately. AI dispatch will not assign jobs requiring that certification to the affected tech until the license is renewed and updated.

Can I track certifications for subcontractors?

Yes. Add subcontractors to the system with their own licenses and certifications. Track their compliance status alongside your full-time team. Protect your business from subcontractor liability.
